Research

Once the basic inventory is finished, an in-depth inventory can be made for an archive, focussed all the documents together. This makes research possible so that the archival material can be situated in a concrete context and a broad framework. This activates the archive and assigns it a score.

Research can be used to describe documents and objects so that you can record their immaterial knowledge and keep information together. Exploratory research happens at every stage of archive care or within your step-by-step plan, but it is also the subsequent step taken towards later forms of access such as publications, exhibitions, or the potential for external parties to research the archive.

The CKV also contributes to a few research projects in an effort to broaden its own field of expertise with regard to art archives and legacies.
